We have enough people coming to the meetup that we will have some money to buy food, which is what we said we would do with any extra funds. We'll provide a couple of meals, and there will be some extra food around for some of the others. Basically, we'll be able to provide something for Fri. evening, all day Saturday, and some "grazing" food for Sunday.

It would be helpful to us if everyone who is coming would answer these questions. If you already filled out the form and answered these, there's no need to respond here.

1. Are you vegetarian? -- we won't be able to meet all dietary restrictions, but if there are a number of vegetarians, then I'll.........buy more vegetables. :)

2. Would you like to help cook/organize/clean for the Saturday evening cookout?

3. Do you have any other thoughts/wishes about food for the weekend?

I think that with this small amount of organization, things will work out fine. :)

If there are vegetarians, I'll handle the special diet stuff... much experience here. (Vegetarians need alternate protein and fat sources, from things like beans and avocados, not more veggies.)

I'm well aware of this--Sorry, I should have identified my comment as a joke. Was assuming the smiley face would do that, but....

In any case, with a relatively small number of people, we can no doubt make sure that there are reasonable things to eat for everyone.

No special food needs here, and would be happy to help with cleanup. Everyone, myself included, would probably be happiest if I had nothing to do with the actual food prep though... :D

I'm also one of those people who is best not left in charge of food prep, though I'm fine helping someone else with prep and happy to do cleanup.

I'm vegetarian and would really appreciate if some of the group food is vegetarian.

We should have $335 for food, if i figured all the numbers right. So, there should be plenty of food for most of the weekend. We might need a bit more for Sunday night, depending on how hungry people are and how many of us (like me) will tend to eat more when in a new social situation. :)

Divided by 12, and that's only $28 per person for the whole weekend. So we'll buy only real food for meals and the cookout and won't be buying any drinks, coffee, junk food, or desserts. We will have a few healthy snack foods (nuts, carrots, fruit) but not much.

If you want to have any drinks, snack or desserts for yourself or to share, please bring them along.

Since we have a few recovering alcoholics in the groups, we ask that no one bring alcoholic drinks.

I'm planning to make a list once I get there and go to the grocery store and get eggs, hamburgers, chicken, chips, diet coke (etc) and stuff like that. So that way we'll have a balance of stuff. I've basically been eating low carbs and high protein and am thinking of making sure we have stuff that's quick and easy plus am looking forward to eating stuff cooked on a grill. :)

So think of things you'd like, and when I get there I'll check what we have and what people would like, and we'll go on a grocery run and pickup whatever we still need/want!
